The scale at the right shows the temperatures marked by the respective colours. The energy pass for buildings will become mandatory in Germany for owners who want to lease or sell their house for the second half of 2008. The European Union (EU) directive will be implemented by an amendment of the Energy Savings Act and the Energy Savings Ordinance.
