Over the last few decades, driven by increasingly widespread social and economic well-being and constant advancements of medicine and science, life expectancy has increased rapidly. Such a significant increase has led to an epic demographic change at a global level. This scenario, although certainly offering new opportunities, also brings about new challenges and issues. A longer lifespan is often related to the surge of age-related illness.

Therefore, prevention and a healthy lifestyle play a crucial role for successful aging, with major consequences both on the individual quality of life and on social and healthcare systems. Today, life expectancy in almost half of the OECD countries exceeds 80 years. According to OECD data, 12% of the world’s population (868 million people) is over 60 years of age, with projections of 2.4 billion (21%) over 60 by 2050. In addition, the global population of significantly elder people – aged 80 and over – is expected to triple by 2050, from 126 million to 447 million.

The United Nations has proclaimed 2021–2030 the Decade of Healthy Ageing, with WHO leading global action to improve the lives of older people, their families and communities.

BE WISE – Longevity & Anti-Aging World Forum is conceived as the first and most important international event, an invaluable occasion to meet and exchange views on the issues of longevity and anti-aging.

The two-day gathering, which will be attended by internationally renowned personalities will bring together MDs, researchers, experts, organizations, brands and institutions engaged on the front line in providing ideas and solutions to promote the psychophysical well-being of people, helping them to age well, with important implications both for individuals and for society as a whole.

Prevention is the common thread that binds all the meetings, round tables, workshops, workouts and master classes of BE WISE.

The main objective is to promote active well-being, not passive, looking at genetics, with a greater knowledge of the body and DNA (and the mechanisms that regulate them), and healthy lifestyles (which can help to age well by improving the quality of life of people): nutrition, physical activity, proper relationships with the environment, psyche and sociality as well as the ability to respond effectively to stress and keep the mind
young.
